Important distinction
The evaluator flags facts that may affect return to work. It does not combine the two programs into a legal test and does not decide eligibility or disability under either program.
This is not a calculator. It does not say you are disabled. It does not decide whether you have a claim. It is meant to help you notice facts that may matter in a serious Alabama workers' comp case.
The most concerning facts are usually practical: you cannot work, your job was heavy, your education limits retraining, treatment is denied, an FCE limits your work, restrictions look permanent, or Social Security Disability is becoming part of your future. One fact alone may not mean much. Several together can matter.
The evaluator is intentionally cautious. It does not flag every inconvenience or every early claim problem. It is designed to call out facts that can change the character of a workers' compensation case: whether the worker can realistically return to work, whether medical care is being delayed or denied, whether permanent restrictions are developing, and whether Social Security Disability may be part of the worker's future.
A red flag does not mean the case is valuable. An alarm bell does not mean the worker is totally disabled. It means the fact should be gathered, documented, and reviewed before the worker signs settlement papers, resigns, closes future medical, or assumes the case is only a small medical claim.
Applying the information
