What to track
Keep a simple record of dates, doctor or pharmacy names, addresses, miles driven, parking costs, prescription names, amounts paid, and whether reimbursement was requested.
Medical mileage
Write down each trip for authorized medical care. Include the starting location, destination, round-trip miles, and reason for the visit. Save appointment slips when possible.
Prescriptions
Save receipts and note whether the prescription was related to the work injury. If the pharmacy card stops working or the medicine is denied, write down who you called and what they said.
Reimbursement red flags
Repeated denials, unpaid prescriptions, stopped pharmacy cards, or ignored mileage requests can signal larger claim-handling problems, especially when medical care is already delayed.
