Publishing the first People’s Encyclopedia entry

This issue launched The People’s Encyclopedia™ of Alabama Workers’ Compensation with a practical first entry for workers facing the first hours and days after an Alabama work injury.

Entry PE-001: published “What Should I Do If I Get Hurt at Work in Alabama?”
First-step guidance: organized immediate reporting, medical-treatment, and record-preservation steps in a scannable format.
Serious-injury focus: addressed early proof concerns when a worker may never return to the former job.
Named authorship: identified Gregory T. Denny as the entry’s author.

Establishing the publication record

This issue formalized the institutional structure of The Alabama Work Injury Report so readers can identify who publishes it, who writes it, how material is reviewed, and how major changes are recorded.

About the Publication: defined the mission, audience, scope, publisher, and publication model.
Editorial Policy: established source, review, correction, disclosure, AI, and update standards.
Authors and Masthead: added publication biographies focused on authorship rather than duplicating lawyer profiles.
Encyclopedia Reserve: reserved a permanent page for the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Encyclopedia for Injured Workers and defined launch requirements.
Issue System: introduced volume and issue numbering for substantive updates.
Publisher Connections: added appropriate links to Powell & Denny and its individual attorney profiles.

How numbering works

A substantive update adds or materially revises editorial policy, a major guide, a reference project, an author record, a significant interactive tool, or a substantial body of legal information. Those updates receive the next issue number and are summarized here.

Routine maintenance—typographical corrections, accessibility repairs, broken-link updates, minor style changes, and formatting adjustments—does not require a new issue unless it changes meaning.

Future issues

The next substantive release will be listed as Volume 1, Issue 3. A new volume begins when the editor announces a new annual or major editorial cycle.
